Grindfatherrr If time were atoms, 1 single atom would amount and add face to the vulnerability an artist shares with the world. After that atom is released through both time and space it simply just... exists. I hope the rest of our planet gets a chance to experience this atom. It's quite special. Favorite track: Dreamstar.

Seasons reveal Specters of past Ever among us Grim to the last Spring's for the hopeful The summer, a dance Autumn hid waiting The blight of the frost Ghosts of the winter Forsaken, aghast Will we remember Their song Their lamentations With us to the end Fear not their haunting As long as there’s light

Setting Sail 05:06
Cast upon the open sea Sail unto the bitter end Row for the shore Storm is breaking, timbers creaking Washed away into the depths Down to the last floor And when I look up There's just a reflection of your face Staring past my suffocation Drown with me Drown with me In the deeps of our sea For when your back is broken, knees fall to the timbers Remember we set sail to die And when your heart is aching, cut away the anchor Remember we set sail to die For when your back is broken, hands are full of splinters Remember we set sail to die And when your spirit's searching, cut away the anchor Remember we set sail to die

I see you wild on the horizon Big brown eyes, beautiful, smiling I'll take your soul and drift away Make love and war every day I've got an issue with myself Live inside my own hell But you could never even tell I keep it together so damn well I'm fading away in the darkness Letting my soul breathe I know you're on my heels I'm unlocking the empty I'm looking to believe That you were the one I fell I heal myself with a potion Beautiful and dark like the ocean And when I rise from beneath I know you can't see All these questions hanging over me Now I've opened all the doors Flooding all of the floors Rattle, shift, and shake away Climb the stairs to reach the top But the last door is still locked Turn around and drink the rain I've got not reason to unwind I feel I'm wasting precious time That I'll never regain, no I've got just one place left to go It ain't the top that much I know Turn around and sink away

about

This album is the conclusion of a 10-year journey of writing, recording, learning, and growing as a musician from when I first started seriously recording my DTB persona back in 2013 with the release of the “Dundar The Barbarian EP(ic).” I’ve been sitting on finishing this album for a while now, and I think part of that was being unsure how to end this saga combined with mixed feelings on letting it go. With “Wintersea” I feel I’ve released something that represents a culmination of my experience in the recorded music realm, and lets the vessel that was Dundar The Barbarian sail to its resting place.

This release was originally going to be 4 songs, but with some encouragement from a very good musical friend, I was convinced to bring it up to 7 (my favorite number, also the sum of my other favorite numbers 3 and 4), which feels good for closure.
In its infancy, “Wintersea” was going to be an addendum to “Sunset Manor: Images, Light, Elation.” I wanted to make something that focused on acoustic guitar and singing, bringing the huge production that was SMILE back to Earth. Instead, “Wintersea” became its own entity, and I think it stands apart from the rest of my releases in a way that showcases a much different vibe and focus, particularly in its folk-music elements.

Thank you to all my supporters since I started releasing music as Dundar The Barbarian in 2013. It’s been a decade.

“End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it. White shores, and beyond, a far green country under a swift sunrise.”
